Hi John - Christian College grad here (BA in Theology from Moody Bible Institute). Right now I live and work around the University of Chicago where I am considering helping start a Christian Study Center. Thank you for your writing! - it's pressing me to refine and think carefully about Christian academic institutions.
You are making comments about very insightful, deep and difficult to understand concepts related to faith. It is a struggle that we all have when relating knowledge with faith. Being it social science or natural science. I am looking forward to reading you book!
Thank you. Very insightful. I too am weary of terms such as "Christian Worldview", "Integration of Faith and Learning" and the like. I follow Christ, and I teach science. Science and faith inform one another within me, and science broadens my conception of God and informs my reading of the Bible. I find students who view science as an enemy, some even going to far as to suggest that dinosaur bones are faked in order for scientists to attack the Genesis accounts. It is this sort of thing I enjoy addressing in my classes for the general core. Thanks too for mentioning Enns. I have found some of his writings to be very helpful, I'll check out the book you mentioned. I wish you good progress on your book! Thanks again and God bless.
Reading and nodding my head emphatically, because I just read about the firing of the professor from Taylor (see Jemaat Tisby’s reporting) and am weary of the re-fundamentalizing of Christian institutions.
Only just read this one entry but already excited for your book. I am Covenant College alum now teaching at a community college in a religious part of the country, and I suspect your vision of a fearless Christian college is a very good one.

Thanks, Chris. Feel free to reach out if you want to swap ideas!

Thanks, friend. Discussions with you over the years play a part in my current thinking.

Yes. Shared that on social media today.
Thanks for reading!

Glad you liked it Matt! If you look back over my newsletters, probably a quarter have related to Christian Higher Education.
